Responsibilities State Intelligence Coordinator
Your primary responsibility is to collect, assess, analyse and interpret information, generate intelligence and distribute information that enables data-driven decision-making.
Reporting line: You report to the State Incident Controller.
- DETERMINING the State Incident Controller’s priority information requirements from the Mission Statement and Objectives
- ESTABLISHING and maintaining intelligence collection networks
- COORDINATING information gathering activities to address the priority information requirements
- ANALYSING data to identify patterns, trends, gaps and potential threats/opportunities
- GENERATING actionable intelligence briefings for leadership
- DEVELOPING and implementing information security protocols
- MAINTAINING intelligence databases and knowledge management systems
Start-up Actions State Intelligence Coordinator
- CONFIRM location of the IMT meeting room upon notification from the IMT
- PROCEED to the IMT meeting room. Bring your mobile phone, iPad/Tablet, laptop, chargers, staff access card and ensure you have access to relevant documentation
- REVIEW the IMT “Rules of Engagement” / Ground Rules and agreed behaviours
Within IMT we will (Rules of Engagement):
- Listen to others’ expertise – no one knows everything
- Speak up if the team seems to have overlooked a key issue
- Beware of tunnel vision, maintain situational awareness
- Delegate tasks rather than having the whole team focussed on a single issue
- Recognise that our immediate decisions should be informed by longer-term considerations
- Declare each decision being made and how it is being recorded, and its deadline for action
Ongoing Actions State Intelligence Coordinator
- SUPPLY actionable intelligence reports to the IMT or others as requested
- MAINTAIN a log of all your activities/decisions/actions
- MONITOR and maintain intelligence collection efforts
- COLLATE information and generate intelligence to address priority information requirements
- BRIEF the IMT on any significant problems arising
- PROVIDE guidance in preparing the Initial Incident Action Plan and in sourcing mapping data
- At the end of your shift/end of day, COMPLETE your Handover Sheet for your relief or the next day
Post-Incident Actions State Intelligence Coordinator
- COMPILE, PRESERVE, and CONSOLIDATE all information in your incident log
- PARTICIPATE in post-incident review and debrief with the IMT
